    Richard Russell
    (1786-1855) American surgeon, 1813 Dartmouth grad,.  He served as a surgeon on Privateer Polly during the War of 1812, was captured and confined at Dartmoor prison.
    Autograph letter signed in ink, Richard Russell,  Aug. 25, 1830, Wakefield, on legal sheet with hand carried cover to Major Samuel W. Carr of Dover, NH on verso - re order for a pair of pantaloons, preferably black.
    Legal sheet.
